ROADRUNNER TOURNAMENT - NOV 04
Beep Beep! For those who drove the distance, they didn’t bring home the weight. The local lake was the big winner. Stillhouse carried the big ones if you were willing to duck the shot coming from those non-shooting duck hunters. All they seemed to be able to do was blow their duck calls, and shoot and pray they hit something. Sometimes the shot was hitting us. The “G” man and his partner, plugging away at the deep hole in the grass was the big winner. Some people went far and wide, some people didn’t get back in time. Remember even on a roadrunner, you must be back at he designated weight time.
We have a lot going on this month.

DECEMBER
LAKE DECKER TOURNAMENT - DEC 04
The fishing weather greeted the fine group of fishermen from the Cen-Tex Basshunters Club with clear skies and a brisk morning, softly warming in the afternoon. The water temperatures ran from 61-64 degrees depending. GREAT WEATHER….not so great fishing.
As always, someone puts it together and from the skills of the G-Man (Jeff), we all could take a few lessons about those deep creatures of our lakes. Seems Jeff has the key, placing first in the last two tournaments while seeking those deeper fish. I vote that Jeff gives everyone a club lesson for next month on this very proven technique. All ye……….say “aye”…….those “nye”…well you know what you can do with those votes. J
Lake Decker has treated Cen-Tex much better in years past……….but, hey that’s why they call this great sport “fishing” and not just “catching”. From the tally of everyone attending, there did not seem to be any specifics to the patterns…….some fish were caught deep, while others were caught very shallow. The water was well into the reeds on the shoreline, and high from the flooding. The fish were caught on Carolina rigs, rattletraps, and lizards / creature baits fished around the grass.
Well, sports fans………on to our next quest, the great Fayette County Lake in La Grange, Texas. What a beautiful lake this is, and for those who have never witnessed this…….you are in for a real treat. The fish should be in a spawn, pre-spawn phase really eating up those baits you decide to cast. Read up, listen up……….some of Cen-Tex’s best overall weights come from this little lake.
The Christmas party will be 17 Dec at Buffalo Bills Sports Bar, starting at 7:30pm. Please bring the side dish you signed up for, and drinks can be purchased at the bar. Remember, the Chinese Christmas gift exchange. We will exchange “Chinese” style for both the men and women present. Everyone needs to bring a gift (10-15 bucks), girls bring girly stuff and guys…you know what to bring. Gag’s are a great tradition and loads of laughs……..If you have any fish stories to tell, please speak up, and we will call upon you to “toast you fellow fisherman”. Come on out, and everyone have a great time…..the significant others in your life deserve to know who and what you spend your time with.
Next Tournament is Jan 8 @ Fayette County Lake.
